Road Safety Advisory for Students
To ensure everyone stays safe when travelling to and from school, students are reminded to practise good road safety habits at all times.
General Road Safety Tips

Always walk on the pavement and keep a safe distance from the road.

Do not run or play near the road.

Avoid using mobile phones or other devices while walking near traffic.

Always be alert and aware of vehicles around you.

Follow the instructions of teachers, school staff, road marshals and security officers.
Crossing the Road Safely

Always use designated crossings such as:

Zebra crossings
-
Traffic light crossings
-
Overhead bridges or underpasses

Wait for the green man signal before crossing at traffic lights.

Never dash across the road, even if you are in a hurry.
Remember the Kerb Drill
When crossing the road, practise the Kerb Drill:

Stop one step behind the kerb.

Look Right, Look Left, Look Right again for approaching vehicles.

Listen for traffic sounds.
-
Think if it is safe to cross.

Walk across the road quickly, but do not run.
